In 2018, I co-founded Open Flame, a comedy nonprofit startup (501c3) that serves to grow a positive, supportive queer community through humor; "Open Flame is a hot queer happening where a comedy show meets an LGBTQ+ social." Each event showcases an all-queer line-up of New York City's funniest up and coming comedians, benefitting various queer-related organizations.
Over the course of 5 years, Open Flame has produced and hosted 120+ queer events and 300+ queer comics including: Jaboukie Young-White, Julio Torres, Sydnee Washington, Ziwe Fumudoh, River Ramirez, Ana Fabrega, Eva Victor, Ayo Edebiri, Jes Tom, Larry Owens, Benito Skinner, Jess Henderson, Sam Jay, Jay Jurden, and more.
Open Flame has raised funds for the following organizations: G.L.I.T.S, Black Visions Collective, For The Gworls, Black Trans Travel Fund, The Okra Project, Lesbian Herstory Archives, Amber Tamm’s Future Farm Fund, Bushwick Mutual Aid, Women’s Health Services, Housing Works, Immigration Equality, Fierce NYC, Audre Lorde Project, Out of the Closet, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, NYC Anti-Violence Project, BAAITS, National Network of Abortion Funds, Ali Forney Center, Yellowhammer Fund, Trans Law Center, The Trevor Project, Silvia’s Place, Trans Student Educational Resources

With my team, I led the art/creative direction of Open Flame's branding, marketing, and social collateral, including the graphic identity, cultivating a fun, positive, and inclusive voice for the accounts. Open Flame also outsourced design services from queer artists, and created and sold merch for the initiative.
